Veevum One — Free Download
Veevum One is a deeply layered ambient and cinematic instrument for Kontakt, offering 100 sound sources, flexible playing modes, randomization, an arpeggiator, and a unique ornament generator for evolving textures.

Sound Generation and Selection
Veevum One generates sound from 100 included sources, which you browse through the visual ‘Cells Beehive’ honeycomb interface. Sources can be picked manually, randomized individually, or filtered by category. The entire patch—including effects, portamento, and unison settings—can be randomized at once, making it easy to discover unexpected combinations.
Multiple sources (up to 50) can be active simultaneously. Playing modes include Random, which assigns a different source per note; Full Stack, which layers all sources; and Spread Stack, which distributes sources across the keyboard. Full Stack also offers a Stack Curve mode where each source’s volume is modulated by an LFO to create shifting, evolving textures.
Playing Modes and Note Generation
Beyond the core sound selection, Veevum One shapes how notes are played. The Random mode pairs naturally with the built-in arpeggiator, generating sequences where each note triggers a different sound source, keeping patterns varied. The arpeggiator can be used with any playing mode to add rhythmic movement.
The Ornamento engine generates additional notes based on user-defined intervals, enriching arpeggios or adding movement to sustained pads. These extra notes can be quantized to the Scale Manager, preventing out-of-key intervals. This feature is especially useful for creating harmonically safe embellishments without manual programming.
Modulation and Effects
Veevum One includes a range of modulation and effects to shape the sound. There are portamento and up to six-voice unison for thickening textures, plus pitch LFOs and an ADHSR envelope that can be applied per sound source or to the whole patch. These controls allow for expressive swells and pitch movement.
Sound design is further enhanced by step-based effects: Step Volume and Step Filter create rhythmic gating and filter sweeps. The Convolver adds unique impulse responses that dramatically alter the character; a special Convolver becomes active on specific notes when the Random FX feature is enabled. Additional effects include delay, reverb, phaser, and rotator.
Workflow and Applications
For composers and producers, Veevum One suits ambient, cinematic, and experimental music. Use the randomization features to quickly audition new textures or the arpeggiator with Random mode for unpredictable melodic sequences. The Stack Curve mode is ideal for generating slowly evolving pads that change over time, while Ornamento adds subtle harmonic variation.
The instrument integrates with Kontakt, requiring the full version 5.8.1 or later, and works on macOS 10.11+ and Windows 7+. Its depth is designed for sound designers who want to explore complex, layered textures without excessive menu diving, making it a flexible tool for scoring, sound design, and electronic music production.
