Virtual instruments and libraries

Veevum Morph is an ambient/cinematic instrument featuring 80 processed sound sources in a unique honeycomb interface, with A/B morphing, multiple playing modes, arpeggiator, and effects for evolving textures.

Veevum Morph

Core Concept

Veevum Morph is an ambient and cinematic instrument built around a honeycomb-style interface that prioritizes listening over visual searching. It offers a large pool of sound sources derived from synths and acoustic instruments, processed into unrecognizable pads, soundscapes, loops, and effects. The interface uses hexagons for sound selection, encouraging ear-based exploration.

A defining feature is the ability to group sound sources into two sets, A and B, with creative transitions between them. These transitions can be triggered manually or automatically, using methods such as volume, filter, pitch, envelope, and step effects, allowing for unexpected variations and motion.

Key Capabilities

Sound sources can be selected individually or randomized, and the entire patch—including effects, portamento, and unison—can be randomized for instant inspiration. The instrument supports up to twenty sound sources simultaneously, with seven playing modes including Random, Stack, Spread, and Velocity Layers.

The A/B transition system offers six ways to morph between sound sets, with optional increases in convolution, reverb, delay, and pan LFO amounts during transitions. A built-in arpeggiator, step sequencers for volume and filter, and an Ornaments engine for generating additional notes add rhythmic and melodic complexity.

Workflow and Interface

Designed for producers and composers, Veevum Morph minimizes time spent browsing endless sound lists. The honeycomb interface lets users click hexagons to select sounds or randomize them, focusing on auditory feedback. The whole patch can be randomized, including effects, for quick exploration of new territories.

The Ornaments engine generates notes based on user-defined intervals, which can be quantized to a scale using the Scale Manager to avoid out-of-key notes—useful for enriching pads or arpeggiations. The arpeggiator can operate in a random mode, triggering different sound sources with each note for generative sequences.

Practical Applications

Veevum Morph is suited for creating evolving ambient soundscapes, cinematic textures, and generative musical parts. Use the random playing mode with the arpeggiator to produce unpredictable melodic sequences, or employ the stack modes to layer multiple sounds for dense, complex pads. The A/B transitions are ideal for building tension or shifting mood within a track.

The step effects and ornament engine add rhythmic interest to static pads, while the convolver with unique impulses dramatically alters sound character. For film scoring or ambient production, the randomization and morphing features help generate unique material that keeps compositions alive and exciting.

Key features

  • Honeycomb-style interface with hexagonal sound selection
  • 80 processed sound sources and 30+ snapshots
  • A/B transition system with six morphing methods
  • Seven playing modes including Random, Stack, and Spread
  • Arpeggiator, step volume/filter sequencers, and Ornaments engine
