XO Expansion: Hyperpop — Free Download
An XO Expansion delivering excessive, candy-coated drum sounds and glitchy patterns for producers seeking high-impact, hyperpop-influenced beats.
Purpose and character
XO Expansion: Hyperpop from XLN Audio is a drum-focused sound pack designed for producers who want exaggerated, in-your-face percussion. It blends cute and aggressive elements, with punchy, high-impact samples pushed beyond typical limits. The source material emphasizes Trap-inspired hi-hat patterns and hard-hitting Techno kicks, combined into glitchy, unpredictable beats that feel chaotic yet calculated.
This expansion provides 75 fully editable presets and over 230 handcrafted samples, all carrying distinct distortion and hyper-digital character. It suits genres where excess is celebrated, allowing you to create rhythms that stand out in dense mixes. The sounds range from playful to fierce, offering flexibility within a bold sonic palette.
Key capabilities
The expansion integrates with XO’s sequencing engine, offering infinite variations and deep rhythmic control. Each preset is a fully editable sequence, so you can examine the anatomy of a beat and understand how it grooves. This transparency lets you tweak every aspect, from individual hits to entire patterns, to craft something unique.
The included one-shot samples are curated for the genre, providing a complete toolkit for building hyperpop drums. Mix-ready presets work out of the box, but you can customize them extensively within XO’s sequencer. The combination of curated content and hands-on editing makes for a versatile creative starting point.
Workflow and integration
In practice, you load XO Expansion: Hyperpop inside XO and browse through the presets to find a starting beat. Because sequences are fully editable, you can modify patterns, swap samples, and adjust velocities to fit your track. The deep rhythmic control allows for glitchy edits, humanization, or aggressive rearrangements, all within the sequencer.
For faster sessions, the mix-ready presets can be dropped directly into a project, while the curated samples enable building beats from scratch. The expansion encourages experimentation, whether you’re creating a hyperpop anthem or adding unique percussion to other genres. Its tools are designed for quick, high-impact results that still allow for nuanced changes.
Practical applications
This expansion is ideal for hyperpop, glitchy pop, or any production needing extreme drum textures. It’s also useful for electronic, trap, or techno projects where you want to inject unexpected, candy-coated energy. The sounds can serve as accents or full beat foundations, depending on your needs.
Mix-ready presets simplify beat creation, while editable sequences aid learning and customization. Whether you’re a beginner exploring drum programming or a pro seeking new inspiration, the expansion offers tools to produce distinctive rhythms. Its focus on excessive, characterful drums makes it a valuable addition to a producer’s arsenal.
