Flux Alchemist V3 — Free Download
Flux Alchemist V3 is a multiband dynamics processor offering compressors, expanders, transient shaping, and mid/side control with morphing presets for creative mixing.

Comprehensive Dynamics Processing
Flux Alchemist V3 is a powerful dynamics tool that goes beyond standard compression. It provides full control over dynamics processing, from simple compression to advanced de-expansion and emulation of classic analog compression. It can also recover transients from an overly compressed mix and handle heavy parallel multiband compression.
The processor operates as a single broadband unit or as a multiband processor with up to five bands. Each band includes a compressor, de-compressor, expander, de-expander, transient designer, and mid/side width control. This flexibility allows for precise sculpting of the dynamic range across the frequency spectrum.
Key Capabilities and Controls
Each band provides controls for ratio, attack, hold, and release, with manual, auto, and advanced release modes. The dynamic factor and velocity parameters allow manipulation of the extracted dynamics information, while the level detection mode and profile can be selected for different processing behaviors. The auto-delay feature introduces a delay line for zero attack time.
The IIR crossovers offer selectable slopes from 18 dB/oct to 54 dB/oct and variable corner frequencies. Input/output gain controls provide a generous range for level adjustment. A phase invert, dry/wet control for true parallel processing, and a peak limiter for smooth peak rounding are included. A true bypass allows for clean signal routing.
Workflow and Preset Morphing
Alchemist includes two preset slots, A and B, which can be loaded with complete parameter sets. A global preset can save both slots and the morphing slider position. The morphing slider allows for real-time blending between the two settings, and automation control exposes the slider to the host for dynamic changes.
The preset manager simplifies copying settings between slots with a one-click operation, even during playback. This workflow is ideal for comparing different processing approaches or creating evolving soundscapes by automating the morphing slider. The ability to save global presets helps in recalling complex setups quickly.
Multiband and Multichannel Operation
For multiband use, the five bands can be bypassed individually, allowing for selective processing. The crossovers provide smooth frequency separation. This is useful for de-essing, controlling sibilance, or applying different dynamics to separate frequency ranges, such as taming low-end peaks while enhancing transient attack in the highs.
Alchemist supports simultaneous processing of up to eight channels for multichannel surround configurations. Processing can be disengaged on any channel, leaving it unprocessed. By using serial instances, individual channel settings can be achieved for complex surround mixing. However, each band’s processing is not separately adjustable per channel in a single instance.
