This pack captures Greg Howe’s signature sound through models developed with the artist. It includes the DV Little GH 250 tube head and matching 2×12 cabinet, designed with DV Mark for jazz-rock clarity and dynamic response. The Mr. Howe Plexi head offers a modern mid-gain voice with upper-mid presence for solo work. The CM Plexiphone overdrive pedal, based on a Carl Martin Plexitone, provides crunch and high-gain channels with a clean boost, forming the core of Greg’s drive tone.

The collection also features additional amps, cabinets, and effects from Greg’s recording history, including compressors, overdrives, delays, reverbs, modulation pedals, a wah, an octaver, and a graphic EQ. With 21 presets of Greg’s influential tones, you can quickly access his signature sounds for fusion, rock, and clean playing.

Cabinet Simulation and Mic Control

THU’s cabinet module uses 3D simulation, letting you place a matrix of four microphones anywhere in 3D space, including behind the cabinet, adjust their angle, and pan them in stereo. Fluid Convolution technology allows smooth microphone movement with long impulse responses. A double IR loader lets you mix your own impulse responses with the built-in cabinet microphones.

The ReSPiRe 2 technology offers two cabinet responses: the real measured response or a processed version optimized for mix placement. You can select from multiple room types and microphone models to shape the space and tone. This level of control helps you craft guitar sounds that sit well in a mix or feel like a live recording.

Amp Modification and Effects

The Amp Tweak panel uses DSP to let you swap preamp and power tube models, simulating different tube types. It can also emulate a variac, which varies the voltage to the amp, affecting saturation and feel. This allows for many tonal combinations, effectively customizing any amp model without external hardware.

The effects section includes overdrive, compression, octave, EQ, plate reverb, tape delay, flanger, tremolo, and wah pedal models. These are integrated into the signal chain for complete sound design. Whether you need clean compression or saturated leads, the effects and amp modifications give you a flexible toolkit for fusion and rock tones.

Workflow and Presets

THU supports MIDI total control, allowing you to assign a MIDI floorboard by clicking an element in the interface and pressing the corresponding pedal. This simplifies live control, making it easy to switch presets or toggle effects during a performance. The Rig Player feature lets you load complete rig setups, and the built-in tuner and looper are useful for practice and sound development.

The pack includes 21 presets that replicate Greg Howe’s influential tones, suitable for jazz-rock, fusion, and rock styles. These presets cover clean, crunch, and high-gain sounds, usable for recording, practice, or live shows. You can also build your own rigs from the included models.
