P-10 Synthesizer — Free Download
A faithfully modeled dual-layer analog polysynth, inspired by a legendary 1980s flagship, with advanced modulation, sequencing, and effects for modern production.

Dual-Layer Architecture
P-10 Synthesizer recreates the iconic dual-manual design of its inspirations into a powerful software instrument. Its core strength lies in its dual-layer voicing engine, offering sixteen polyphonic voices per layer. This allows configurations ranging from two independent synths to a single unified instrument, or engaging layered and alternating modes for rich, evolving textures.
Users can split or stack the keyboard to play both layers simultaneously, with each layer having its own comprehensive control set. Parameters such as pan, volume, and tuning are adjustable per layer, enabling the creation of intricate soundscapes where two distinct patches coexist. This architecture provides a flexible foundation for both performance and studio composition, mirroring the flexibility offered by the original hardware.
Sound Engine and Modulation
The sound engine meticulously models the classic Curtis oscillators and filters, delivering the character of the original hardware, including its distinctive oscillator sync. Two virtual oscillators per voice generate sawtooth, triangle, or variable-width pulse waveforms, while a filter based on the classic design provides the iconic lowpass response, with an added highpass mode for expanded sonic possibilities.
Modulation is exceptionally deep, offering multiple independent sources. The innovative Poly Mod uses each voice’s own filter envelope or oscillator to modulate pitch, pulse width, filter, and amplitude on a per-voice basis. Mono Mod combines LFO and noise, while Aux Mod extends pedal controls to any MIDI source. A new Pressure Mod section supports both monophonic and polyphonic aftertouch, allowing expressive real-time control over a wide range of parameters, including oscillator pitch, filter, and effects.
Sequencer, Arpeggiator, and Effects
For rhythmic and complex patterns, P-10 includes a four-track step sequencer. Each of the four monophonic sequences can have a user-defined length, be assigned to either layer, and is stored with its preset. Utility operations allow easy copying, swapping, and moving data between tracks or presets, streamlining the creative workflow.
Each layer also features an arpeggiator with tempo sync, and independent, studio-quality effects chains. These include distortion, phaser, flanger/chorus, delays with sync, and reverbs. Each effects chain has its own LFO and Pressure Mod, enabling aftertouch to modulate effect parameters for dynamic performances, adding another layer of expression and movement to the sound.
Presets and Modern Workflow
The instrument ships with over five hundred professional presets, including the original factory patches from its hardware predecessors, instantly accessible via a convenient browser. For those with original SysEx data, a drag-and-drop import feature allows direct integration of classic patch banks, bridging the past with the present.
Modern workflow enhancements include comprehensive MIDI mapping and DAW automation for all controls, with an easy-to-use MIDI learn function. Additional features like a per-layer unison with detune, glide, and a drone mode expand the sound design palette. The interface is elegantly rendered with a shows/hide keyboard option, and supports multiple zoom levels for comfortable use.
