PSP InfiniStrip WIND is a zero-latency, modular channel strip plug-in with eight module types and flexible slots for tracking, mixing, and live streaming.

Purpose and Design
PSP InfiniStrip WIND is a channel strip plug-in built for flexible signal shaping in tracking, mixing, and live broadcast. It combines decades of plug-in development into a single, configurable processor. The design focuses on low-latency operation, allowing you to track through the strip without added delay, which is critical for real-time monitoring.
You assemble the strip from eight module categories: preamps, filters, compressors, equalizers, limiters, dynamic processors like expanders, duckers, and gates, plus control and special modules. Seven dedicated slots accept one module per type, while two flexible insert slots accept any module, giving you broad freedom to create a custom chain for any source.
Key Capabilities
The plug-in includes a parameter-matching feature that lets you switch between different compressors or equalizers while retaining the current knob positions, making it easy to audition tonal alternatives without re-adjusting controls. This helps in finding the right ‘color’ or ‘flavor’ efficiently. A large preset library, designed by experienced engineers, offers a starting point for many instruments and vocals.
Three view modes—full, resizable, and mini—cater to different screen sizes and workflow preferences, from detailed editing to compact metering. External side-chain support is available independently for each module, enabling ducking, gating, or dynamic EQ triggered by other tracks. Both mono and stereo versions are provided to match different track types.
Workflow and Modules
Configuring the strip involves dragging modules into the desired slots. The recent update improved drag-and-drop accuracy by recalculating drop zones for each module, reducing accidental swaps. New modules automatically receive focus to streamline setup. Mini view mode now visually separates unused slots for clarity and includes missing gain-reduction meters for the de-hummer and de-esser modules.
A new preset system adds category-based sorting, undo and redo, and enhanced A/B comparison for quick experimentation. Session loading times are improved, and compatibility with recent Apple operating systems and popular DAWs is updated. The manual is revised to reflect these changes.
Practical Applications
For tracking, the zero-latency design lets vocalists or instrumentalists hear the processed signal in real time without comb filtering or delay. In mixing, you can build a custom strip for each channel—say, a preamp, high-pass filter, compressor, and EQ—tailored to the source. Live streaming or broadcasting benefits from a reliable, low-latency chain with side-chain capabilities for ducking background music under a mic.
The flexible insert slots allow creative routing, like placing a limiter after a special modulation effect. Use parameter matching to quickly compare compressor models or EQ curves while maintaining the same threshold and gain settings, speeding up mix decisions. The mini view is ideal for small laptop screens or when you need to keep the GUI unobtrusive during live sessions.
