Steven Slate Drums David Bendeth Expansion Pack for Trigger — Free Download

Producer-Grade Rock Drum Tones

This expansion pack brings the signature drum sound of producer, engineer, and mixer David Bendeth to your Trigger sessions. Bendeth, known for his explosive rock productions with artists like Paramore and Breaking Benjamin, personally preprocessed each sample. The included presets capture the aggressive, punchy character that defines his records, offering an instant way to add professional rock drum tones to your mixes.

The pack is built around five ready-to-use preset kits. Each kit combines live sampled drums with Bendeth’s own classic samples, which he mixed into the top two velocity layers for added impact and consistency. This approach lets you trigger powerful, consistent hits without sacrificing the natural feel of a live performance, making it ideal for rock, alternative, and pop-punk productions.

Sample Content and Key Features

The expansion pack includes a curated set of drum samples, featuring three snares, two kicks, four toms, two crashes, one ride, one china, and one hi-hat. These samples are preprocessed by David Bendeth, meaning they arrive with his preferred EQ, compression, and tuning already applied. This saves you time and helps you achieve a radio-ready drum sound quickly.

You can choose from the five preset kits to get different drum combinations, or you can mix and match individual samples to build your own custom kits within Trigger. The inclusion of his classic samples in the higher velocity layers ensures that accents and hard hits retain the exact character heard on his hit productions, giving your tracks an authentic edge.

Workflow and Compatibility

To use this expansion pack, you must have Steven Slate Drums Trigger Platinum or Trigger EX already installed. The pack is not a standalone instrument; it is designed to be loaded into these supported versions of the Trigger plugin. This makes it a straightforward addition for existing Trigger users who want to expand their drum sound library without learning a new interface.

In practice, you load the pack within Trigger, select one of the preset kits, and then trigger the drums using MIDI or audio drum replacement. The preprocessed samples integrate seamlessly with your existing mixing workflow, allowing you to focus on the track rather than spending hours shaping drum tones. The presets are especially useful for demos and final mixes alike.

Practical Applications

This expansion pack is best suited for rock, alternative, and pop-punk genres, where the punchy, aggressive drum sound is a staple. Producers and mix engineers can use it to replace weak drum samples in a recording, reinforce live drum tracks, or create fully programmed drum parts with a professional sheen. The included presets serve as a fast starting point for any rock production.

Because the samples are preprocessed and ready to use, the pack also works well in songwriting sessions where you need a polished drum sound quickly. The blend of live and classic samples ensures a dynamic yet powerful result, making it a reliable choice for tracks that require upfront drums that cut through a dense mix.
