Virtual instruments and libraries

An authentic multi-sample virtual instrument of electric guitars, basses, and an electric piano, captured through amps and pedals, offering deep synthesis-style control and effects.

Nightfox Audio Analog Electrics

Core Sound and Instrument Sources

Analog Electrics builds its character from a curated stack of real instruments: a custom baritone guitar, a vintage 60’s electric guitar captured both with an acoustic mic and through a tube preamp, a vintage bass, and a modern hollow body electric guitar. Each is sampled on every fret, never skipping notes, ensuring smooth and natural playability across the range.

The library includes eleven distinct instruments — several electric guitars, basses, and an electric piano. Every instrument was recorded through amps and pedals in a real space, with multiple velocity layers for expressive dynamics. You can use any instrument solo for tight, realistic parts, or stack them in endless combinations to design hybrid textures that blend the warmth of moving air with the precision of a synthesizer.

Comprehensive Synthesis and Shaping Tools

Beyond raw samples, Analog Electrics behaves like a fully-fledged synth. A global envelope section provides Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain, and Release controls with a visualizer, while a customizable filter offers ten filter types with resonance. The filter and envelope can be shaped live, making it easy to morph from plucked realism to sweeping, electronic motion.

Three LFOs — targeting gain, pitch, and filter — each feature six shape options, enabling cyclic movement from subtle shimmer to rhythmic gating. Five portamento controls allow smooth pitch-glides between notes. Five per-instrument effects (Pan, Width, Input Delay, EQ, Compression) and five additional onboard effects (Drive with eight types, Phaser, Chorus, Delay, Reverb) give every voice its own nuanced identity.

Arpeggiator and Real-Time Control Workflow

The built-in arpeggiator is a creative hub. It offers Hold, Latch, and Midi Thru modes, plus six patterns (up, down, up-down, down-up, random, chord). You can set the step number, rate, octave range, swing, step size, and keyboard split range. Velocity, note length, and pitch offset maps further humanize or mechanize your sequences.

All key parameters are automate-able in major DAWs and fully CC-mappable, so you can tie filter sweeps, delay feedback, or LFO speed to hardware knobs or track automation. This makes the instrument ideal for live performance tweaking or evolving studio productions, where you can record nuanced changes directly into your session without digging into menus.

Presets, Hybrid Blending, and Practical Use

Over 70 presets ship with the instrument, spanning a range of clean, driven, and processed tones. You can create your own presets, save them, and mark favorites for quick access. Because each layer is fully editable, starting from a preset and swapping the source guitar or adjusting the filter can lead to entirely new sounds in moments.

In practice, Analog Electrics excels at pop and rock guitars, cinematic soundscapes, and electronic music where organic textures are layered with synths. Play a baritone guitar through the arpeggiator for a driving loop, or blend a hollow body with a bass for a warm, thick pad. The ability to mix up to eight layers makes it a versatile tool for producers seeking authentic analog tone with modern control.
