Comprehensive Modular Toolkit

This collection bundles 37 modules derived from PSP’s award-winning plugin algorithms, adapted for the Voltage modular system. It includes familiar processors like equalizers, compressors, and reverbs, alongside experimental modules based on PSP N2O. Each algorithm was tailored to leverage Voltage’s flexible patching possibilities, allowing complex signal routing and modulation.

The modules span classic effects such as plate, room, and spring reverbs, as well as digital delay with tape modulation and ping-pong features. You’ll also find a rotary speaker emulation, four-voice stereo chorus, and a stereo flanger with manual control. This variety makes it a versatile toolkit for both traditional mixing tasks and unconventional sound exploration, all within a single modular environment.

Creative Sound Design Modules

Several modules push into creative territory. The nitroFormant offers a dual formant filter, while eFeMerizer is a frequency modulator. nitroEnveloper and nitroLFO provide modulation sources with ten waveforms, and nitroPhaser supports up to 32 stages. nitroLoFi gives a continuously variable bitcrusher with presets, and nitroComb is a two-channel comb filter.

Other unique tools include nitroNoise, a noise generator, nitroPitch for pitch shifting, and nitroSVF for state-variable filtering. The FreqShifter mimics analog frequency shifting, and PolyBoing reacts resonantly to signal edges. These modules are designed for experimental sound design, from subtle coloration to extreme transformations, taking advantage of Voltage’s modular patching for intricate modulation.

Utility and Dynamic Processors

The bundle includes essential utilities for a complete modular setup. VCACMP is a classic VCA-style compressor, GEQ10 is a ten-band graphic equalizer, and PEQ6 is an analog-style parametric equalizer. For metering, Metra handles stereo levels, and Spectra provides a 30-band spectrum analyzer. These modules cover gain staging, tone shaping, and monitoring.

Poly modules add polyphonic capability: PolyADSR and PolyEnveloper generate envelopes, PolyAmp is a voltage controlled amplifier, PolyFilter is a fourth-order ladder-type resonant filter, PolyFolder folds signals, and PolyPatch is a patch bay. PolyWobbler introduces random analog-style instabilities. Together these tools enable dynamic control, filtering, and modulation in a polyphonic context, expanding creative possibilities.

Workflow and Application

In a Voltage patch, you can route audio through the PEQ6 for surgical EQ, then into VCACMP for dynamics control, and finish with a Plate reverb for ambience. For creative patches, use nitroLFO to modulate nitroPhaser’s frequency or nitroComb’s delay time. The over 250 presets offer starting points to learn each module’s behavior and speed up workflow.

Suitable applications include sound design for film and games, electronic music production, and live performance. The modular format allows for complex modulation routing that traditional effects lack, and the variety of classic and experimental modules supports both functional and experimental tasks. Whether you need subtle coloration or dramatic shifts, this collection provides comprehensive tools within the Voltage ecosystem.
