Three distinct workflows make Waves Harmony flexible for different users. Automatic mode uses a bank of chord presets to generate harmonies instantly without musical theory knowledge. Playable MIDI mode lets you trigger harmonies in real time via a keyboard, while Graphical mode allows drawing harmonies on a visual display.
The plugin includes over 450 factory and artist presets, covering styles such as pop, hip hop, R&B, rock, country, and folk. It also functions as a vocal effects toolbox for doubling, layering, delay arrays, and modulated melodies, making it useful beyond simple harmonization.
Workflow
In Automatic mode, you scroll through chord presets and pick a result, which is ideal for quick inspiration. For live performance, connect a MIDI keyboard and set the key and scale so any played notes sound musical. Graphical mode allows precise arrangement by drawing in voices and adjusting pitch, formant, delay, filter, and pan.
Snapshots let you save and recall voice settings per song section, automating changes as the track progresses. This reduces the need for multiple takes and manual editing when producing complex vocal arrangements, saving time in the studio.
