ZHEGA — Free Download
ZHEGA is a distortion and saturation plugin with five analog-inspired circuit modes, dual EQs, cabinet simulation, and precise controls for tone shaping.

Core Purpose
ZHEGA from Antelope Audio is a distortion and saturation plugin built to deliver a wide range of harmonic textures, from subtle warmth to extreme fuzz. It features five custom analog-style circuits inspired by tube distortion, each with its own dynamic response, harmonic coloration, and saturation character. This lets you cover everything from smooth, tape-like warmth to full-spectrum, high-gain aggression.
The plugin provides precise digital control for fast, flexible tone shaping, blending authentic analog-style coloration with modern convenience. It is designed to be a versatile tool for adding character to individual tracks or entire mixes, offering a straightforward approach to distortion without complex routing or external hardware.
Key Capabilities
ZHEGA includes a DRIVE knob for input intensity and a BIAS knob to adjust waveform symmetry, shifting harmonic balance without relying on EQ. The drive and bias controls together allow precise shaping of distortion behavior. Two independent 4-band EQs, one pre-saturation and one post, enable surgical tone sculpting before and after the distortion stage.
Autogain compensation automatically adjusts output level as DRIVE increases, maintaining consistent loudness and headroom. A one-click cabinet simulation adds speaker cabinet realism to DI guitar or bass tracks using built-in IR-based emulation, eliminating the need for extra plugins or external IR loaders. A dry/wet control supports phase-accurate parallel processing, blending clean and processed signals.
Workflow
Start by selecting one of the five circuit modes to set the basic saturation character. Use the DRIVE knob to dial in the desired amount of distortion, and adjust BIAS to fine-tune harmonic balance. The autogain compensation ensures levels stay consistent, so you can focus on tone without manual gain staging.
Use the pre-EQ to shape the input signal before saturation, emphasizing or cutting frequencies that affect the distortion response. The post-EQ then shapes the final output, allowing you to sculpt the overall tone. For DI guitar or bass, enable the cabinet simulation to add realistic speaker coloration. The dry/wet control enables parallel processing for blending clean and processed signals.
Practical Applications
ZHEGA is suitable for adding warmth to vocals, drums, or synths, or for creating aggressive fuzz on guitar and bass tracks. The cabinet simulation makes it a ready-to-use solution for recording direct guitar or bass without external IR loaders. The dual EQs and dry/wet control are useful for mixing, allowing you to integrate saturation while preserving transient detail.
For sound design, the drive and bias controls offer a wide palette of harmonic textures, from subtle coloration to extreme distortion. The autogain compensation and phase-accurate dry/wet make it reliable for consistent results in a mix. The plugin is designed for musicians and producers seeking analog-style character in a digital workflow.
