Ultra Channel integrates several distinct processors into one cohesive strip. It pairs Eventide’s MicroPitch Shift with dynamic delays that offer variable feedback paths, allowing for creative time-based effects. The five-band parametric EQ provides precise tonal shaping, while the built-in gate helps control noise and sustain.

The two dynamic processors deliver contrasting flavors: the O-Pressor is engineered for extreme compression, while a conventional compressor adds de-essing and side-chain capability. Together, these tools let you handle everything from subtle dynamic smoothing to aggressive, characterful gain reduction without leaving the interface.

Saturation and Tone Shaping

A dedicated output module models an analog transformer that can be driven into soft saturation. At low drive levels, it adds definition to low-frequency material while keeping the rest of the signal transparent. Pushing harder recreates the harmonic distortion of transformer core saturation, which can make individual tracks or whole mixes feel more cohesive.

This saturation stage is distinct from the dynamics and EQ sections, so you can apply warmth at the end of the chain or reorder it for different effects. The result is a flexible tool for adding harmonic richness without resorting to external saturation plugins.

Flexible Signal Routing

The FlexiPath routing system is a standout feature, letting you drag and drop the top-level components—O-Pressor, compressor/de-esser, EQ, and gate—into any order. This reordering capability is rare in channel strips and gives you direct control over how each processor interacts with the signal.

For example, placing the gate before the compressor can alter how transients trigger gain reduction, while moving the EQ after saturation changes the tonal balance. This workflow encourages experimentation and helps you tailor the processing chain to specific sources, from vocals to drums, without needing to rewire a complex external setup.
