The Trailer Bundle combines two ensemble libraries from Musical Sampling, crafted specifically for trailer music composers. Both Trailer Brass and Trailer Strings share a consistent wide-seating aesthetic, captured in the same large concert hall, ensuring a cohesive sonic space across the bundle.

This collection is not just about raw power; it also offers surprising versatility. While the primary focus is on bold, cinematic statements, the strings are captured down to piano dynamics, making them useful for softer, more nuanced passages. The brass includes a heavily processed cimbasso/tuba ensemble for extreme low-end weight. This combination of brute force and dynamic range allows composers to craft intense trailers while maintaining musicality.

Key Capabilities

Trailer Brass is organized into three sections: ten horns, ten trombones, and a six-piece cimbasso/tuba ensemble. It features patches for Adventure, Majestic, Staccato, and Sustains, covering a range of articulations essential for trailer scoring. Additionally, the library includes eleven custom sound design patches sourced from the brass recordings, offering unique, processed textures for risers, impacts, and other effects.

Trailer Strings consists of four sections: eighteen violins, sixteen violas, fourteen cellos, and twelve basses. Articulation patches include Adventure, Staccato, Spiccato, Marcatos, and Sustains. A time-saving All Strings patch provides a full ensemble in one playable patch, ideal for quick sketching or dense tutti lines. The library captures both the inspired forte fortissimo dynamics and softer levels, making it flexible for various cue intensities.

Workflow and Playability

Both libraries are built for Kontakt 5.5.1 or higher, requiring the full retail version; the free Kontakt Player is not supported. The sampled performances are loud and immediate, allowing composers to achieve epic results without extensive layering or processing. The wide-seating stereo image creates a larger-than-life sound that fits well in surround mixes or broad stereo productions.

For workflow, the All Strings patch in Trailer Strings is a significant time-saver, letting you play full ensemble lines with a single patch. The brass sound design patches can be used as one-shots or looped textures to add interest and energy. The consistent recording environment across both libraries simplifies blending, helping you build a cohesive trailer score without worrying about mismatched spaces.
