Klüsterkitt Konstruktor is a drum kit builder that merges acoustic drum samples with synthesized waveforms, offering both fully acoustic and fully synthetic elements. This hybrid approach lets you craft rhythms with a distinctive character, moving beyond traditional drum libraries.

Convolution Coloring

Each kit slot features a dedicated convolution engine with nearly four hundred custom impulses, allowing you to color, shape, distort, and augment any drum sample. These impulses can thicken kick drums, smear snares, or turn hi-hats into intricate rhythm engines, with evocative names like Glitchbomb and Drumrust.

Use the lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filters—each with dedicated cutoff and resonance controls—to further sculpt how the convolution impulse affects the sound. Tuning, sample start, decay, and width parameters also influence the coloring, giving you deep tonal control.

Performance and Randomization

Control the amount of randomization applied to velocity and quantization for each kit slot separately, making snares and hi-hats deliberately trashy. With six round-robin layers per articulation, even fully synthetic kits can maintain a natural groove.

The Smart Randomization feature preserves performance settings while offering three modes: randomize sample banks only, convolution choices only, or both. Two temporary memory slots let you compare new combinations before saving a snapshot of your final kit.

Routing and Workflow

Konstruktor is multi-out capable, so you can route each kit slot to separate output channels for individual automation and processing with external plugins. This makes it suitable for detailed mixing and creative sound design within a larger project.

Build a kit by selecting samples and impulses for each slot, then use randomization to explore new ideas quickly. The snapshot feature allows you to save your crafted kits for later use, streamlining your drum production workflow.
