Acon Digital Mix & Mastering Suite — Free Download
A six-plugin suite for mixing and mastering, offering transparent dynamics, EQ, limiting, reverb, and dithering tools with flexible phase modes and sidechain options.

Purpose and Signal Transparency
The suite combines six processors: Dynamics, Multiband Dynamics, Equalize, Limit, Verberate, and Dither, all built around the goal of preserving signal clarity. The dynamics processors use intelligent gain control and oversampling to minimize distortion, while the limiter applies a two-stage approach with a pre-compressor for transparent peak control.
The equalizer offers adjustable filter slopes per band, and the reverb uses an algorithmic design for natural tails. Together, these tools address common mixing tasks—compression, EQ, limiting, ambience, and dithering—within a single workflow, suitable for both full mixes and individual tracks.
Dynamics and Multiband Processing
Dynamics functions as a compressor, expander, or gate with adjustable look-ahead and up to four-times oversampling to reduce distortion. An auto-release mode adapts release times to the audio, and a range control limits maximum gain reduction. A mix knob enables parallel compression easily.
Multiband Dynamics extends this to four bands with freely adjustable crossover frequencies and slopes. It uses linear phase filtering by default, but a mixed phase mode reduces pre-ringing, preserving transients. Channel linking can be adjusted for independent or coupled processing across stereo channels.
Equalization and Limiting
Equalize is a parametric EQ where each band’s slope can be set from gentle to ultra-sharp, offering unusual tonal shaping flexibility. It operates in minimum phase mode for zero latency, linear phase to preserve phase relationships, or mixed phase with adjustable latency to balance phase accuracy and pre-ringing.
Limit is a transparent limiter with intelligent look-ahead and oversampling for peak control. The two-step process—pre-compression followed by peak limiting—minimizes distortion. Version updates added auto-release for the pre-compressor, adapting to audio dynamics for more musical gain reduction.
Reverb and Dithering in Practice
Verberate 2 is an algorithmic reverb that simulates real spaces with high-density tails. Its Vivid Hall algorithm introduces time variance, avoiding the static feel often found in convolution reverbs, while maintaining natural decay. This makes it suitable for adding depth without clouding clarity.
Dither provides flexible noise shaping with adjustable maximum gain and a graphical display of the filter’s frequency response. This helps when reducing bit depth at the final stage of mastering, allowing engineers to tailor the shaped noise to the material. Both plugins integrate with the suite for end-to-end processing.
