Flexible Microphone Perspectives

Recording a grand piano is challenging, and True Keys solves this by providing four fully mixable microphone setups. The Close mics deliver a punchy, modern sound with a wide stereo image and deep bass. The Player perspective offers the pianist’s viewpoint with more distance and noticeable hammer attack.

The Side position uses a stereo ribbon for a warmer, even response. For convenience, the Mix option combines all microphones into a single, processor-friendly preset. Each perspective is a separate sample set, allowing you to blend them to suit any musical style, from intimate jazz to grand classical.

Expressive Playing Controls

True Keys uses an extensive sample set with multiple velocity layers, including silent strikes for very soft passages. It includes fully sampled una corda pedal, sympathetic and pedal resonance, and adjustable resonance polyphony. Repedal and true pedal action model realistic sustain pedal behavior, and half-pedal mode is sample-based and adjustable.
