Room Sound Blasting Room Signature Series Drums — Free Download
A Kontakt Player drum library capturing the exact kit pieces from The Blasting Room studio, with deep mixing controls, effects, and MIDI grooves for punk and rock productions.

Authentic Studio Kit
The Blasting Room Signature Series Drums is a virtual instrument recorded at the renowned Fort Collins facility co-owned by Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore. It samples twenty-five individual kit pieces from the actual drums used on records by punk and rock bands like Rise Against and The Descendents. Each piece can be auditioned and selected in the Kit Select area, where you can individually adjust pitch, envelope, and MIDI dynamics for precise control over your drum sound.
This library includes full microphone bleed, giving the kit a cohesive, live-room feel. The goal is to reproduce the sound of a real drum recording session, so you get the exact character of the studio without needing a full tracking setup. Use the kit select page to build a custom kit from the available pieces, then fine-tune each drum to fit your mix or performance style.
Mixing and Effects
Sixteen individually controllable close, overhead, and room mic channels allow you to mix the drums as if you had recorded them yourself. Each channel includes full bleed controls, and can be multi-output routed to individual DAW channels in popular recording software using included templates. This gives you the flexibility to integrate the drums into your existing mixing workflow.
A DAW-style insert rack provides nine studio-quality effects and four reverb programs, letting you shape the sound entirely within the instrument. Mix-ready presets, created by Jason Livermore using the internal mixer and effects, offer a quick starting point. No additional plug-ins are required for these presets, making it easy to get a polished drum sound out of the box.
MIDI Grooves
For those who don’t play drums, the library includes a substantial collection of MIDI grooves. These grooves cover a wide range of tempos and playing styles, allowing you to audition them within the interface and drag-and-drop them directly to your DAW timeline. They automatically conform to the tempo of your song, making it simple to build a drum track without manual programming.
This feature is perfect for demos, songwriting sessions, or jamming, as it provides realistic drum patterns that you can edit as needed. Whether you need a driving punk beat or a more nuanced groove, the library’s MIDI content is designed to get you started quickly and efficiently.
Keymap Customization
The customizable keymap page is designed for working with alternate MIDI mappings and electronic drum kits. It includes key map presets for many popular software drum instruments, making it easy to switch between sounds without re-learning your controller setup. This flexibility is valuable for performers who use electronic kits or producers with specific MIDI workflows.
The instrument runs in the free Kontakt Player, with no demo-mode timeouts. It is compatible with Mac and Windows systems, and supports VST, AU, and AAX formats. The interface is designed to be intuitive, allowing you to quickly adjust keymaps, audition grooves, and build your perfect drum setup.
